I love when my boy is cooking. He made me eat and love the meat again. I have to admit, he is still teaching me in the meat preparation. My personal mentor. I present you the best of all – Sexy Rib Eye with Warm Potatoes.

What could possibly be nicer on a romantic dinner than a piece of juicy rib eye steak? You have to try the version of this warm potato salad. A perfect fix for cold winter days. It gives you so much energy and it is delicious. A real fairy tale!

Total Time: 45 minutes

Shopping list

The Rib Eye:
2-3 quality Rib-Eye Steaks, cleaned and drained
A knob of butter
Sea salt and ground black pepperThe Pepper Sauce:
Fresh ground black pepper
½ cup of full-flavoured red wine (I treat myself to Sicilian Shiraz)
1 single cream
A knob of butter

The Warm Potatoes:
5 medium potatoes,peeled, washed and sliced
2 small shallots, peeled, cleaned and sliced
2 slices of good quality baked ham, diced
1 large carrot, cleaned, washed and diced
1 large white carrot, diced
2 handfuls of green beans
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
½ teaspoon of dried chilli
Sea salt and ground black pepper
A knob of butter

Instructions

First, take your steaks out of the fridge and let them come to a room temperature.

The Warm Potatoes

Place the potatoes in a medium deep pan and cover them with salted cold water.

Bring to boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes until they are nicely soft. Take them out of the water and set aside.

Melt a knob of butter in a large frying pan on a high heat and add the bacon.
Stir in the shallots and carrot. Sauté until it softens, for about 5 minutes on medium heat.

Potatoes and beans in. Sprinkle with Worcestershire Sauce and season with chilli, salt and pepper.
Braise it all for couple more minutes until it all gets nicely golden and juicy. Taste and taste.

Cover with a lid and keep it warm until serving. Done.

The Rib Eye

Place a knob of butter in a frying pan on high heat.

Steaks in, bake them for 2-3 minutes from each side (Depending on the thickness and way you like your steaks to be done, of course).
Baste with melted butter. Season with salt and pepper. Take them out of the pan. Let them rest for couple of minutes.

The Pepper Sauce

On medium heat melt a knob butter in the pan, where the steaks have been made.
Sprinkle with good amount of fresh black pepper and stir with all meat bits.

Next, pour in the wine and reduce.

Pour in the cream and reduce by mixing until nice smooth creamy texture. Taste and season accordingly. Done.

Serve with a glass of full-flavoured red wine. Yummy!
