The First Grown-Up Meals

The First Grown-Up Meals – a wish of every parent. Culinary wise, I really couldn’t wait for the time my baby will start eating something more firm, something that gives me joy to prepare and serve as well.
In my case, the time was going very slowly. My baby had her first tooth only in 13 months. It doesn’t have to mean necessarily anything, but her digestion has been developping for a while. We rehearsed until we succeeded. And we did, so I found my joy in it, too.

The Techniques

The basics are very easy, and they should be. Mothers don’t have the extra time to spend in the kitchen, right? Cooking in hot boiling water is my base. You can also bake in the oven, grill or steam.
These cooking techniques are more than enough for the the first years of the age, for any kind of meal. The longer, the better. It is healthy and fast. These techniques save lots of time, which is appreciated.
I always cook around 2-3 portions (exchanging of some ingredients e.g. meat, eggs, vegetables, herbs, etc.). I am trying to change a supplement every few days: rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pasta, legumes, etc. Twice a week a cooked egg yolk and every second or third day some kind of meat. In addition to that, once a month good you can mix it up with some excellent quality fish and red meat (beef or pork tenderloin or veal) from the age 2 plus.
I do not use additional salt, sugar if not necessary. The freshness and full flavour of vegetables, meat and herbs are just enough.
I present you my baby’s very favourites, regular ones and occasional ones. Enjoy and have fun with it!
