My Special Food in Prague – Czech Republic

Food in Prague desires some attention from my side because my time in Prague (after 5 years) is over, at least for a while. As I was born in Czechoslovakia, and therefore, the countries Czech Republic and Slovakia will always be close to my heart. Prague is a beautiful place to visit, to stay over and definitely has a lot to offer and admire – I present you My Special Food in Prague. Prague is unique in its beauty, food, people and traditions. It is time for me to move on, but it would be a sin not to present my personal specials, what food in Prague has to offer:

Food in Prague on The Farm’s Market in Jiřího z Poděbrad

A small place on a big Square of Jiřího z Poděbrad, not far from the centre, located in lovely part of the city, called Vinohrady. These markets are spreading more and more through the years, getting popular by foreigners and locals. They offer mostly local products and seasonal food from smaller and bigger farmers. Some of them become friends, some of them are more reserved, just the way Czechs do it. Go and have a blast. Enjoy lunch, brunch, drink or do some quality food shopping in Prague.

Onion Chutney

The greatest marmalade of all – Onion Chutney. Perfect for any kind of meat and I recommend it strongly with a nice matured goat cheese. As I was informed by the producer, this is a long, humble and smelly procedure (not recommended to do at home with neighbours). The secret is in the spices, port wine and cognac. It has very strong taste, but it is definitely worth to try. “Marmalades with a Story” Marmelády s příběhem is a guarantee of humble quality products and belongs to the top of the food in Prague. They offer classics and specials at the same time. Try for yourself, very lovely is for instance, raspberry and rhubarb marmalade.

Almond Croissant

Very nice combination of almonds, supported by a good layer of marzipan filling. The croissant itself is pretty huge and sweet. I dare to make them smaller and try to imitate the beautiful taste of them – Easy Almond Croissants. Real treat for breakfast. These croissants are products of Petite France Bakery, which produces really delicious sweets, as well as breads. My favourites of the breads are with caramelized baked onion, seasonal one with figs or just a plain humble bread or baguettes. A must is to taste and you will experience some top quality food in Prague. My Special Food in Prague offers more and more, especially seasonal dishes or little bits, accompanied with world-famous beer brands. Therefore, let me inspire you and continue cooking and shopping with me. Dobrou chuť a na zdraví, Culinary Talks.
