Cinnamon Chicken – I remember this recipe like yesterday when I saw it on the TV. I was quite small, but ever since then, my mom used to prepare it for us as a fast week dinner. It has an interesting full taste of cinnamon. Even though I know people do not like to use a ketchup in recipes, the Heinz is sometimes a must, isn’t it!
Total Time: 1,5 hour
Shopping List
1 whole quality chicken, portioned (1kg of chicken fillets optional)
7 cloves of garlic
3 big onions
ground cinnamon
smaller bottle of sweet ketchup
100g of butter
salt
800g of potatoes, sliced
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Clean the chicken and season with salt and cinnamon. Massage the spices nicely until it is all covered. Place the meat on a baking tray.
Add the onions and garlic in between the chicken.
Cover all with potatoes and season with salt. Baste 100 ml of water and slice butter on the top.
Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes. Then add ketchup and mix gently. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until nicely golden and crusty. Bon appetite!
