Spaghetti with Blue Cheese and Pear

Rate this post

This recipe is so simple and special at the same. Inspiration comes from a master itself – the Italian cuisine. The combination of pear, walnuts, blue cheese, chili and prosciutto just works out to a perfection. Try it and you won’t regret. This pasta dish is very fulfilling, impressive and luxurious. Spaghetti with Blue Cheese and Pear tastes almost like a dessert. Buon appetito!

Shopping List

1 medium ripe pear, washed, cleaned and diced
Few drops of lemon juice
100g of good quality soft blue cheese
½ cup of double cream
A pinch of chili flakes
1 handful of walnuts, hardly chopped
Few slices of prosciutto ham (my secret is Prosciutto di San Daniele), torn in pieces
Sea salt and ground black pepper

2 portions of spaghetti

Instructions

Cook the spaghetti in a large deep pot filled with salted hot boiling water until al dente.

Meanwhile, melt the cheese in a large frying pan on medium heat.

Pour in the cream and flavour up with a bit of chili.

Prepare the pear and sprinkle with lemon. This way it tastes even better and doesn’t darken.

Once the pasta is ready, drain it for a bit and season with a pinch of sea salt and pepper.

Mold the spaghetti into the sauce with 1 large spoon of salted pasta water. Then, give a good stir.

Add pear and walnuts. Finish with slices of ham. Done. Enjoy with a glass of white wine.

Makes 2 serves.
