The Winter is here, at least for many of us. It means the time for the traditional Winter Meals can start. The most convenient is to cook from what we have processed in Summer. However, not all of us are that lucky, so let me provide you with the list of winter food: onion, garlic, sauerkraut, carrot, celeriac, bacon, germ, beef, cheese, apples, red wine, etc. Did I forget anything? Share with me your ideas in comments and cook along.
The beautiful white and cold Winter days bring me lots of inspiration and desire to create comfort food.
The Winter is also in the spirit of the Holiday Season: Christmas, New Year, Valentine and The Carnival. Besides these holidays Winter Meals are also required to withstand the cold and to have enough energy for your favorite winter sports.
Winter Meals give energy
We need more energy during the colder days. For me personally, I feel a lot more appetite after a walk in the freezing cold than when it is warm and sunny. Especially, the hot soups are really satisfying. After a long day of being out I wish for a beautiful stew.
I love the green forest, the singing birds in the morning and the warmth on my skin. However, if I look outside in the Winter and I see these beautiful white mountain tops I do not miss the Summer at all. It gives me inspiration and desire to challenge myself and serve my beloved ones a hot steaming Winter Meal.
Winter Meals Boost
A good stew will help you recover from the cold in your veins. If you need to warm up during the day nothing beats a nice hot bowl of soup.
